I've been writing about wine for more than 20 years — the past decade as the Toronto Star's contributing wine columnist. I believe living well doesn't have to be pricey or pretentious. It just takes a little know-how. And maybe a corkscrew. Some things, of course, are worth the splurge — and others are simply priceless: a perfectly timed bottle, a beautiful table, the memory of a great meal while travelling.

Whether I'm walking a vineyard in Tuscany, ducking into a hidden Parisian wine bar, or pulling a great $18 bottle off the shelf, the goal is the same: to help you drink better, live a little more beautifully, and have more fun doing it.
